Full-time Online/Search Marketing Strategist - Beltsville, MD

Merrick Towle Communications, has an immediate opportunity for a Search Marketing Strategist/Analyst to join our team!

MTC has a growing list of clients who reap continued benefit from our experienced and knowledgeable digital marketing team. Our Engagement department works exceptionally hard to increase website traffic, enhance market visibility and realize incredible results for our clients through online marketing.

We are looking for a an experienced marketing strategist who can create and execute on campaigns that take the technologies and tools associated with best practices for SEO, SEM/PPC, marry them, and create revenue generating opportunities for our clients. Candidates should be experienced in crafting and leading overall strategy for the build, execution, optimization and management of both paid and organic search campaigns. The Search Engine Strategist/Analyst will be responsible for creating the overall strategy.

Responsibilities:
SEO Responsibilities
-MUST have a PROVEN SEO background (not entry level) and the ability to own SEO process for our clients
-Experience in keyword research, build-out and implementation
-Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript (light Dreamweaver work required)
-Experience implementing SEO via core website and WordPress blogs
-Experience with local map listing set-up and optimization (Google Places, Bing Maps, Yelp, etc.)
-Experience with proven link-building strategies
-Optimization of site navigation, internal linking structure, URL structure, dynamic page templates, code, etc.
-Understanding of optimization best practices for FLASH & AJAX coded websites
-In-depth understanding of search engine algorithms and ability to enhance our program based on search engine updates and changes
-Experience with CMS/content managed websites a plus
-Copywriting experience (blog content writing and optimizing copy for SEO)
-Experience analyzing the performance of clients’ web programs against their objectives and recommending and executing tactics that will help realize their long term SEO goals

SEM/PPC Responsibilities
-Creation and build of Google AdWords and Yahoo/Bing adCenter accounts
-Keyword research, bidding, campaign/ad group, match type creation and build out
-Must be familiar with local/geo-targeting and content network options
-Ongoing weekly management of clients PPC/SEM campaigns based upon keyword, CPC/bidding and copy performance
-Manage client target-performance goals and budgets
-Complete ‘a-z’ campaign management based upon campaign ROI/ROAS goals
-Report generation and analysis
-Strong client communication and relationship skills needed
-Strong analytics/KPI skill set required
-Solid understanding of paid search metrics

Position Requirements:
-Strong Google Analytics skill set required (certification preferred)
– Tracking tagging, goal/funnel analysis, etc
-Social media/optimization and strategy experience a plus (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc)
-Creation of optimization search, social media & analytics strategy document and reports
-Running analytics reviews of client campaigns
-Ability to work cross departmental to ensure deliverables are executed – work closely with designers, developers, art directors, account executives and engagement strategists (media planner/buyers)
-Facilitate and lead analytics discussions internally and client facing
-QA/review of deliverables implemented by web designers/developers
-Educates clients and co-workers on best practices and overall education of SEO, SEM/PPC & analytics
-Participate in client meetings & occasional new business presentations
-Maintain an understanding of industry trends and research industry related media, journals and trends
-Write/craft/aid-in development of client proposals/RFE

Education/Experience:
-4-year college degree or equivalent work experience required; Background in business, communications or English preferred.
-2+ years experience specializing in paid and organic search optimization and management
-Agency experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits
