TEAM PURPOSE: The purpose of the Digital Communications team is to drive their digital strategy and brand online, delivering communications that help attract, inspire and maintain relationships with supporters, and put the user at the heart of the digital experience.


JOB PURPOSE: To develop and drive online acquisition to maximise revenues & support offline campaigns where appropriate


BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: Online marketing budget in excess of £1m


DIMENSIONS:


• Support in development of customer acquisition activity for ATL and non digital direct marketing activity • Management of search, display, affiliate and direct partnership channels to maximise ROI • Co-ordination of online campaigns and activities across other departments & third parties (agencies, partners etc) • Ongoing expert analysis of results and continuous optimisation to hit agreed CPA targets • Expert knowledge of the web and online communications environment • Knowledge of search engines and web analysis tools • Shaping creative/innovative solutions to new online projects and problems


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Building their search strategy to drive traffic, action and income across all core departments. Managing external agencies to support and deliver to agreed targets. • Regular review of their search engine presence for key/topical terms • Ownership of search engine optimisation strategy and advising on operational plans • In conjunction with Digital Acquisition Manager developing their display and affiliate strategy to drive cost effective traffic, action and income for their online portfolio. • Responsibility for centrally co-ordinating their search, display, affiliate & direct partnership marketing activity within Digital Communications team (working closely with Digital Communications delivery team) • Negotiating, implementing and managing ongoing relationships with all key online partners • Develop & execute campaign / category specific online marketing plans with agencies & online partners • Co-ordination between other departments & personnel on e-marketing opportunities • Ensure that the relevant tracking is in place to measure success of individual campaigns and return on investment (across all online channels) • Advising Digital Communications team on best practice and industry standards • Managing Agency/s invoicing and sign off processes, including continuous development of ways of working. • Co-ordination between other departments & personnel on e-marketing opportunities


SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:


• Demonstrable ability to work effectively with project management skills, including budget management and excellent communication skills • Experience of SEM, with expert knowledge of the key search engines, Google, Bing, Yahoo • Experience of managing other online marketing channels –display, affiliates (direct or via an affiliate partner) and direct partnerships • Proven ability of using web analytics to drive activity and achieve results • Demonstrable organisational and planning skills in a cross-team environment, and ability to influence at a senior level • Agency management experience • Proven ability to think conceptually and analytically


Desirable:


• Knowledge/experience of Development or Charity work (campaigning, fundraising, education) with an awareness of their work • Knowledge of leading new media projects and delivery of relevant assets Experience in digital media planning and buying
