SEM Manager

Core responsibilities:
- Grow the profit associated with the SEM program through superior campaign management and project management.
- Support Search Engine Marketing through analysis, optimization, and new keyword acquisition
- Build search engine volume and efficiency forecasts as part of the annual business planning process
- Conceptualize and initiate tests (keyword bids, ad copy, and landing pages) in order to continually improve key metrics (click, search, convert) across campaigns
- Make recommendations on keyword selection and prioritize expansion efforts
- Manage relationships with search engine marketing partners
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices
- Investigate and implement new technologies, services, automation capabilities, and/or vendor solutions that enhance SEM
- Act as the Search Engine Marketing point of contact on technical development
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of business experience. 2-4 years of search engine marketing experience preferred. Online retail experience is a plus
- Strong applied analytics. To us, this means you love data, gleaning insights from data, and making decisions based on data. You need to have demonstrable history of doing this. You need to want to keep doing this. Applied analytics should make you happy. Seriously.
- Ability to work on multiple things at once while staying focused on the details. We move at a fast pace and generally have 3-5 projects going at any one time.
- Curiosity. You ask what, why, how. Like “What are our competitors doing?”, “How are consumers thinking about this?”, “Why aren’t I getting the placement I thought I would get with this particular term and bid?”. You just have to know.
- An entrepreneurial spirit. We’re going to give you a business to own.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
