Full-time Search Marketing/Optimization Strategist

Healthy Hearing.com is seeking a seasoned, experienced SEO (search engine optimization) Strategist.  The ideal candidate will define search optimization and marketing opportunities and solutions for the website, with a strong focus on local search.  They will research keywords and analyze competing web sites to assist in determining content requirements for Healthy Hearing, as well as analyze traffic logs and develop plans to increase overall traffic to the site, including lead generation and traffic for the Find-A-Professional section.  This will be both a strategic and a “hands on” position, in that the candidate will not only need to develop a plan, but execute on that plan as well.  This will include, but not necessarily limited to on-site optimization, off-site optimization (link acquisition & content sharing), web analytics, conversion, pay-per-click, usability, social networking, mobile optimization, statistical sampling surveys and local search.  The candidate will periodically be asked to analyze competitive web sites to assess the state of the market and better help define content and search marketing strategies for HealthyHearing.com.   A strong background in local search is needed, as the primary objective of HealthyHearing.com is to drive traffic and referrals to the Find-A-Professional section. This person should be well versed in all aspects of "white hat" SEO techniques.  The candidate will also have a well developed technical knowledge and a desire to continually learn the latest technologies and online marketing tends. 


To succeed in this role requires a combination of technical and marketing savvy, and persuasion which enables him/her to scope the landscape, define a vision & strategy, win acceptance of that strategy, and execute against the approved plan.  This position will report to the President of HealthyHearing.com, but will need to collaborate closely and collegially with editorial and development team members, as well as third-party vendors. In other words, there is no “I” in SEO.  This position would include a maximum 180 day probationary period to ensure that there is a good match for both the candidate and Company prior to entering into full-time employment status.


Responsibilities:


Held accountable for attaining and exceeding (quality) unique visitors to website and more specifically the Find-A-Professional section.


Working with the rest of the HealthyHearing.com team, develop and execute an overall SEO plan for the website.


Execute HealthyHearing.com’s ongoing site-wide SEO efforts, including tracking measurement metrics, analyzing results, and working with technology and product management resources to optimize natural search results and increase traffic to the website.   This will include everything from working to optimize code and content resources on the HealthyHearing.com website, to establishing contacts on how to disseminate content (including articles, news and Find-A-Professional directory information) and develop relationships with other website to increase links and traffic to HealthyHearing.com.


Primarily focus on natural search rankings, but eventually will involve paid search campaigns.  Research, collect, and analyze data, leverage internal and external resources, and data sources to report on successes and actionable opportunities for the paid and natural search programs.


Working to administer sampling and survey research on website to measure quality of traffic to Find-A-Professional section.


Generate and disseminate management reporting to ensure that the wider team is aware of campaign performance trends.


Staying on top of all search marketing trends that relate to the HealthyHearing.com website to develop strategies that can be implemented to increase site traffic and/or Find-A-Professional conversion.


Requirements:


- Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred.


- Based in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex


- 4-5 years experience in search marketing.


- Deep knowledge of SEM and SEO as well as a working knowledge of current and emerging trends and technologies, especially in the area of local search.


- Knowledge with technical aspects of search engines


- Experience working for consumer internet brands with similar conversion models highly desired.


- Experience using Google AdWords, Yahoo Marketing Solutions and MS AdCenter.


- Expert in the use of Google Analytics.


- Experience with A/B and/or multivariate testing.


- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Gmail, Google Docs, and Basecamp


- Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.


- Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving


- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities


- Self-starter approach, with ability to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility as time permits


- Sense of humor
