The Digital Strategy organization for HP.com is looking for a passionate and confident leader in the area of SEO and SEM. This is an exciting opportunity to drive a global team with collaboration across HP's Global business units and regional SEO teams. The HP.com SEO & SEM team represents the corporate website HP.com and drives best practices, standards, and support for leveraging the HP.com website for promoting HP's global brand, products, and services. HP.com is a top destination site with over 80 Million visitors a month, $2 billion in annual ecommerce revenue, and localized web presences in over 76 countries and 36 languages which creates an amazing opportunity for a passionate leader.

The ideal candidate will be able to set strategy, coordinate with HP's business unit partners and respective SEO teams to deliver a repeatable, scalable program that delivers traffic and revenue growth for HP.com. The ideal candidate is confident, analytical, technical, and a solid influencer and communicator. Furthermore, the candidate must have a proven track record of delivering results through SEO techniques, is confident influencing across all levels in an enterprise environment, and enjoys keeping abreast of the latest and greatest SEO tools and best practices. The candidate must also be up to date on key trends, search engine rules/algorithm changes from the major search engines, and new technologies and tactics within the SEO & SEM disciplines. This role has significant exposure to the Digital Strategy executive team and Business Unit leaders which requires solid communication and presentation skills, business acumen, and confidence.

Areas of key importance include: Link building strategy, content creation best practices, analytics, communication & evangelism, analytics framework, and a deep technical understanding of site infrastructure and web technologies.

Responsibilities:

· Global governance and standards: Define best practices and SEO standards for HP.com and engage with business units & regional SEO teams

· Partner with Engineering: Work closely with IT & Engineering to engage on SEO business challenges, requirements definition, and site infrastructure issues & solutions

· Leadership: Leading a team of technical and analytical specialists with collaboration across HP business units

· Hands-on optimization: Identify site structure, page construction, content, keyword lists and copy issues/opportunities

· Keyword Strategy: Develop a keyword strategy across all business units which spans across SEO & SEM

· Rigorous Analytics Framework: Partner with analytics team to develop a measurement framework which can be leveraged to measure program success and report progress to the organization across core KPI's.

· Global Communications: Provide regular updates and presentations to executive management, business units, and development organization to report status, identify issues, and influence.

· Evangelism, Awareness and Education: Enhance Corporate SEO education & awareness promoting the value throughout the organization, building corporate knowledge of what works and why

· Product Development: Define and implement SEO-driven product requirements for site, CMS, and content creation improvements with development organization.







Qualifications

· Experience in building and executing an SEO strategy for a global digital centric enterprise

· Experience in developing internal & external ethical link building strategies and search friendly content standards

· Experience running PPC & SEO campaigns with a rigorous analytical framework for measuring ROI

· Understanding of web server, analytics, and search engines technologies. Experience with statistics applications and log file analysis a plus.

· Knowledge of industry tools (e.g., SEOMoz, KeywordDiscovery, Google webmaster tools, Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)

· Proven record of growing organic search traffic and revenue through generating & maintaining top search engine rankings for branded, head, and tail terms

· Knowledge and experience in the generation and maintenance XML Sitemap generation & submissions
•Direct agency SEO experience a plus.

· Familiarity with social networking and bookmarking sites.

Required Skills:

• Ability to both think strategically, technically, and analytically about SEO in the enterprise to develop a global and scalable SEO program.
• Strong analytical thinking skills with experience in data modeling with Excel and/or database/SQL tools.

Technical Skills:

· Solid understanding of underlying site architecture concepts: redirection, DNS, URL structure, etc

· Knowledge of HTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS templates, XML, HTTP protocol (302, redirection, etc) and SEO Content Analysis

· Certified Adwords professional a plus

· Engineering background is a strong plus

Education:

· BA/BS in Engineering or Marketing with a strong understanding of technical SEO

· Masters in Marketing or MBA a plus
