Job Description:

Gotta Mentor is looking for a very talented communicator and social networker with a natural instinct for what to say, when, where and how to say it in today’s social media landscape. The Social Media Intern will drive web marketing on career-related blogs and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. You will be our voice on these sites, promoting a cool new web platform to students and career professionals.

Experience & Competencies

• Must be VERY active in various social networks and have actively cultivated their own following on at least one of these sites

• Must be able to give examples of a blog or other writing that demonstrates their style and creativity

• Demonstrated ability to grow their own audience online through social media activityVery familiar with online social media tools: twitterdeck, etc.

Candidates should be able to commit a minimum of 5-7 hours/week. This is an ideal opportunity for late year students or graduates looking to get some industry experience in PR and Marketing in an early stage start-up environment. Candidates who can work independently in a location other than our NY office will be considered.

• Build a Circle of Advisors from their existing social/professional networks and from the Gotta Mentor community

• Access personalized roadmaps and advice that covers all aspects of the recruiting
process, including resume and interview prep
• Obtain real-time feedback from others

Gotta Mentor was founded in 2007, has raised several rounds of seed capital, and is based in downtown New York.

This internship provides individuals with $1000 worth of personalized career coaching, the opportunity to build relationships with influential people, and the potential for a great work experience to communicate to prospective future employers. There is no cash compensation.
