Due to our continued growth and success, BetterTrades is currently seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join our marketing team. We are a small, but growing stock market education company that has managed to prosper through the dot com bomb, a struggling economy, and one of the worst bear markets in history. We are a lean, competitive, self-driven, hard working, fun-loving bunch of entrepreneurs who are stubborn to no end. We quickly adapt to changing conditions and our business model may sometimes appear to be “Whatever Works Now” as we pursue the illusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Our primary focus is on stock and options market education. In short, we teach trading workshops plus we design, build and manage internet services for a diverse collection of investment advisors, instructors, brokerage firms, trading clubs, e-commerce sites and retail investors. We are a young, dynamic organization with employees and associates across the United States. BetterTrades is currently recruiting for a SEO Specialist who will drive audience growth via organic and paid search methods. The Specialist will be responsible for formalizing SEO strategies and tactics and help lead the technology team in their implementation across all websites and any brand extensions (e.g. widgets, applications). The Specialist will also serve as a functional expert when devising and executing inbound linking strategies (e.g. SEM, cross-linking, social media marketing). The SEO Specialist will work closely with marketing and product development teams and will report directly to the VP, New Business Development. · Analyze website traffic and provide well defined technical, design, content, optimization strategies for search engine improvement that maximizes ROI and increases the rank of natural search result listings and effectiveness of PPC campaigns. · Develop SEO website assessments and recommendations and translate them into technical requirements. Work with development team to implement SEO enhancements/modifications. · Provide SEO guidance in technical areas such as server infrastructure, website structure and page construction, internal linking, CSS, JavaScript referencing and programming standards. · Review and manage all page tagging (page titles, meta tags, alt tags, copy, etc.). · Work with technology and marketing teams to maximize BetterTrades 'shelf space' on search engines. · Manage relationship with search agency and provide process for individual market voices to be heard (e.g. buying keywords that are seasonal and/or market specific). · Use third party software and internal tracking tools to identify high value search phrases. · Train our staff on best practices in SEO; serve as internal 'evangelist'. · Create education programs for BetterTrades staff on how their decisions affect SEO, and how to take SEO into account when developing content, programs, functionality. · Consistently analyze changing opportunities and monitor trends in search engine algorithms and important keywords. · Bachelor's degree required (with background in Computer Science or Online Marketing preferred). · Minimum 4 years online marketing experience, with 3 years of SEO experience and a proven track record in improving site traffic. · Previous experience with keyword research, density analysis, reporting and link building tools. · Familiarity with developing, maintaining and optimizing large dynamically generated sites with content management publishing systems. · In-depth knowledge of and interest in SEO and online media; up-to-date with latest industry trends, technology and changes. · Experience with SEO of multimedia content including video, images, mp3s, etc. · Good understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies and strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. · Must operate with high ethical standards and use only white hat techniques. · Exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven abilities to effectively present and sell complex information to internal or external clients. · Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. · Ability to operate effectively in a team oriented and collaborative environment.
