The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with research and product development, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The incumbent is responsible for defining business rules and for successfully aligning technical requirements with business objectives. The role also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.
Primary duties & responsibilities
* Develop and implement new products/services along with comprehensive marketing strategies
- Develop product definitions and provide documentation expertise and training to other departments involved in product development
- Coordinate and work closely with the product development team and other cross-functional team members like sales, customer support, operations to meet business objectives
* Develop and manage an annual business plan, budget and objectives for their respective teams
- Set product performance objectives
- Lead life cycle management for existing products/services
- Identify and recommend product improvements to fit customer needs
- Determine product development priorities
- Work with business units in developing product roadmaps to ensure business objectives and financial targets are met
* Track, monitor, and report on the results of individuals and team, set priorities, and address performance gaps and opportunities
- If off target, develop and implement contingency plans
- Participate in writing the PRDs (Product Requirements Documents) and defining processes
- Partially assume project management responsibilities: determine key deliverables, introduction schedules and processes that need to be put in place
* Short term monitoring of product performance
- Identify market trends, user feedback, customer needs, competitive information and market research for a given product line to determine the right feature set for buyers and sellers and fit with market needs
* Mid-/long term planning
- Analyze market conditions and trends to identify new business opportunities and strategies in the mid / long term
- Participate in the marketing planning process and in defining revenue estimates for existing and new products
- Manage departmental projects and can be a key member of company-wide projects (system implementations, integration projects, etc.)
Required skills & abilities
- Able to understand IT concepts
- Proven ability to manage both people and projects
- Strong sense of teamwork and the ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization
- A self starter who thrives in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member

- Skilled at creating and overseeing project schedules

- Ability to multi-task and be able to estimate and prioritize tasks
Experience & education
- University degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent business experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing/product management in a web-based environment
- Proven track record of successful products launch and management
- Basic understanding of marketing research concept as well as financial tools to initiate business cases
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (French and English)
- At ease with Microsoft Office
- General understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.)
