This position is in NYC and we are not relocating candidates. If you are from outside the NYC area please let me know your timeline to be here for interviewing and to start a full-time position.


 


·        Create a Style Guide which includes designated Key Words, Authority and Landing Pages for the group.  Responsible for updating and maintaining the Style Guide and training site teams on adhering to the Style Guide.  Create bench marks and measure performance over time.


·        Coordinate with SEO/SMO heads embedded within brands to drive cross-linking priorities by setting strategy, communicating to site teams and following-through to completion. 


·        Increase contextually relevant inbound links from authoritative sites by working across MTVN, advocate outreach  and assisting the biz dev team to ensure SEO and SMO value is incorporated into every digital partnership.


·        Work with Central SEO team and attend industry conferences to stay on top of advancements, trends and changes to algorithms and business practices for companies such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, and others.


·        Track natural search and social media referrals to our sites and create case studies to be presented to digital management.


·        Spend more time on sites that don’t have dedicated SEO/SMO heads embedded within the brands such as NextMovie and CMT.


·        Work closely with Music and Logo product developers and tech teams to ensure all new product launches have best practices for SEO built-in.  Also work with Centralized Tech to make sure page load and other basic site functions that impact SEO are working optimally.


·        Develop, analyze and report on overall Search Engine Marketing program success with regard to keyword ranking, indexed pages, backlinks, etc.


·        Perform SEO/SEM competitive analysis. Compile competitive landscape and trade intelligence for SEO strategy development and optimization.


·        Conduct keyword research, analysis, recommendations and execution to increase page rankings in collaboration with SEO Leads.


·        Maintain ongoing report of Music and Logo sector fast moving keywords through Google Trends, Hot Searches, Hot Topics, Hitwise, etc.


·        Responsible for press release optimization and quality directories submissions (www.botw.org , dir.yahoo, dmoz, etc).


·        Reports to SVP of Strategy and Operations


 


Requirements:


 


·        4+ years experience in a dedicated Search Marketing role.


·        Min 3 years of experience as a SEO link building expert initiating, monitoring and managing white hat organic link acquisition strategies and social media


·        Candidates must demonstrate achievement of top rankings and increased traffic from Google, Bing and Yahoo.


·        SEO copywriting including, titles and meta descriptions, press release optimization, and keyword rich copy


·        Extensive experience required with keyword research, density analysis, reporting and link building tools (e.g., SEOMoz, Keyword Discovery, SEM Rush, Google Trends, Hitwise, ComScore Marketer, etc.)


·        Hands on experience with search analytic tools including: Omniture (Site Catalyst & Discover), Google Analytics, Raven, Google Webmaster Tools, keyword ranking software, etc.


·        Fluency in SEO Optimization (SEO/SMO) and general Search best practices ideally In-House Entertainment SEO, including on all core SEO elements (Optimization of site navigation, internal linking structure, URL structure, Title, Meta Description, Headers, keyword density, dynamic and static page templates, XML Sitemaps, mRSS Feeds, Canonical Tags, HTML, Rich Media Optimization, etc.)


·        Ability to thrive working on various projects within a cross-function team (e.g. Business Development, Marketing, Legal, Content, Editorial, Research, Technology, Central and Brand SEO Teams, ).


·        Responsible for directory submissions, article submissions, and News RSS Feed submissions


·        This solution-oriented position requires excellent written, speaking, and presentation skills across all levels of management, staff, and client groups, strategic partners, and with outside analysts.  This includes the ability to collaborate and encourage teamwork and to facilitate communication between people with different levels of expertise.


·        As an SEO link builder, this candidate must be a fantastic communicator with the ability to explain complex technical details to a non-technical audience.


·        Candidate must be an avid follower of Search Marketing industry and have an understanding of the latest developments.
