Full-time Head of SEO

EMC Conchango is seeking a head of Search Engine Optimisation to define and execute EMCC’s client-facing SEO strategy.


The candidate will work closely with metrics, content, design, user experience, technical, and information architecture teams to deliver training, strategic recommendations, white papers, and best practices to a wide variety of clients in the ecommerce, digital publishing, financial, and legal sectors.


The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic SEO evangelist with a proven track record of devising and implementing SEO strategy, collaborating with in-house and client-based teams, and pitching SEO services to potential clients. The candidate should be comfortable in identifying SEO-related key performance indicators and able to articulate potential return on investment to clients. The candidate must have extremely strong written and oral presentation skills, and should have a background in both the technical and creative aspects of SEO. This position includes some travel in the UK and EMEA.


Duties and Responsibilities


Devising SEO-driven business cases


Devising and delivering SEO strategic recommendations for clients


Delivering SEO-based documentation including site recommendations and best practices


Delivering traffic-driving keyword lists and SERP performance analysis


Training in-house and client teams on SEO strategy, including keyword research, meta content writing best practices, technical best practises, and content creation best practices


Advising on URL strategy


Advising on internationalisation best practises


Pitching EMCC’s SEO service offering to clients


Collaborating with metrics teams to deliver insightful, actionable reporting


Collaborating with UE, IA, tech, and content teams to integrate SEO into project workflows


Advising on social bookmarking, social networking, blogs, microblogs, and other search opportunities


Competitor analysis


Site audits


SERP audits


 


Candidate Requirements


Essential Qualifications and Experience


Bachelors/Masters degree;


Minimum 5-7 years experience in Search and/or SEO strongly preferred


Proven track record of successfully defining and delivering complex projects with superior ROI, from business case through deployment


Must be comfortable with technology


Given the above, must have the ability to think from a user and business perspective and avoid jargon and business-speak at all costs
