SEO and Content Monetization Director


 


This newly created position will lead all of Suite101's international initiatives to generate traffic and improve monetization for online content. With the goal of helping Suite101 writers create articles that attract higher advertising revenues, you will head all Suite101's initiatives to better target content niches. You will establish an SEO mindset within the entire organization and implement and maintain best-practice SEO on our website.


 


To succeed in this role you must be versatile, analytical and results-oriented. This position works closely with our international Editorial, Marketing/Communications, and Product Development teams.


 


Tasks:




  • Lead Suite101's initiatives to actively improve online content monetization

  • Define and refine automated and manual methods to create content suggestions for content creators, based on quantitative analysis

  • Develop and test hypotheses in keyword research

  • Specify and maintain highly effective online systems to guide writers

  • Build and lead a scalable multi-lingual network of freelance researchers

  • Train staff, editors and content creators in best practices to develop competitive online content

  • Analyze site traffic and provide technical, design, content, optimization strategies and guidelines for organic search engine performance improvements

  • Provide SEO guidance in website structure, page construction, internal linking etc.

  • Develop and monitor relevant metrics and actionable reports



Required Skills and Experience:




  • 2+ years of dedicated SEO and web analytics experience

  • 3+ years of staff/team leadership experience

  • Numbers-driven; very strong quantitative and analytical skills (details must be provided, see below)

  • Comfortable driving multiple projects independently, collaborating with a team in four countries

  • Smart go-getter who thrives in a start-up environment

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
