We are searching for a multi-skilled Information Services Technician that can work in a collaborative, team environment. You are a self-starter and demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and initiative, and have strong problem solving skills. You keep up-to-date with technology trends and are familiar with both Windows and Linux operating systems as well as open-source applications.

Your primary duties will include the installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of servers, network equipment, hardware and software. You respond to service outages and follow best practices, policies, and procedures in the administration of AlertPay’s technical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain server and network environments to ensure effective and efficient performance

Build and maintain vendor relationships and manage the purchase of hardware and software products

Install and test software upgrades to all network and server hardware platforms.

Manage and resolve all in-house users and application developers support requests

Maintain network electronic equipment including switches, hubs routers and all relevant cabling.

Maintain personal computer infrastructure including operating system and all user and application development software tools

Diagnose and resolve all network and system related failures

Develop operational procedures as well as procedures relating to disaster recovery

Identify opportunities for network growth and scalability with recommended courses of action to support the current and future goals of the organization

Work with project teams in the design, development and review of technology solutions

Experience / Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technologies or 3 to 5 years related experience

CCNA certification (or equivalent years of experience) is an asset

MCITP, MCSE or MCSA certification is an asset 3 to 5 years systems and network administration, with experience in the following areas:

* LAN/WAN networking environments working inTCP/IP

* Thorough knowledge in all Microsoft Windows Server platforms including 2003 and 2008

* Server side applications: IIS, DHCP, Apache, MySQL, MS SQL, Exchange

* Linux operating environment

* Windows Active Directory

* Firewall solutions including IPtables and Cisco ASA

* Security solutions including VPN, SSL, PPTP/IPSEC, PGP and SSH

* Knowledge of network routing and switching protocols

* SQL Server Administration and Backups

* VMWare or any virtualization technology
